Hello eveyone! Well, I got absolutley nothing worked on this week.  The sinus infection that started on Valentine's Day had me too woozy to move around much last weekend so most of my time was spent drinking water, taking decongestants, and resting.  There was some improvement on Monday, but not enough that I felt I could run my errands.  Therefore, I placed an order online for my groceries so I wouldn't need to go into the store and only went to the pharmacy to pick up my husband's prescriptions. Layer Cake Tumble Quilt Top At least I was well enough to drive as my husband had a CAT scan Wednesday morning, eye exam Wednesday afternoon, and an MRI on Thursday.  That pretty much blew the rest of my week as I ended up spending Friday catching up on laundry and housework.  Today, I've decided to finally do my hair.  It really needed to be done last month.  I just didn't find the time.  The cutting is done, the perm is in progress, and once it's rinse...

Hello everyone. I haven't finished my Valentine's Day pillow covers.  Tuesday I got to spend most of the day on them and about three hours Friday morning.  The rest of my time was spent on housework, errands, medical appointments for my husband, and trying to hold of a head cold.  Unfortunately, the head cold is winning.  It didn't help that I decided to custom quilt the pillow covers.  That always takes more time, especially when you're making the quilting decisions as you go along.  They're coming out nicely though. Custom Quilted Corner We did get about five inches of snow last Saturday.  They say we're in for another storm tonight and tomorrow as well.  This one will be rather messy as they're predicting it will change over to sleet, freezing rain, and then rain in our area.  It will probably remain freezing rain further inland. Last Weekend's Snow Fall I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day with your loved ones.  I think tha...

Hello everyone! We're expecting more snow tonight here in Fall River.  Predictions are for 4-8 inches, though we're so close to the coast that it could change to more of a mix.  It very often does.  In any case, I'll be spending my Sunday shovelling out. Instead of prepping another quilt top for quilting, I decided to make some Valentine themed pillow covers for my living room.  I did a Valentine quilt about three years ago and I never got around to making some pillows to coordinate withh it.  It's about time I got around to it.  They're pieced and partially quilted.  I should have them completed this weekend.  For now, here a photo of the pieced pillow covers.  I should have the completed project for next week's blog post. Pieced Valentine Pillow Covers (in progress) I though I'd have the whole week (or most of it) to work on my projects as my husband didn't have any medical appointments.  That went out the window when his cardiologist ...

Hello everyone. The first quilt top I'm quilting is nearly done.  I just need to finish sewing the binding to the back of the quilt.  I also put out my Valentine's day quilt and door hanging today. Working on the Binding It was a very busy week. I had hoped to have this top completed and the next one ready to start quilting, but, as always, life got in the way.  At least I'm making progress.   I have dinner guest coming today so I've been spending time in the kitchen yesterday and today.  I"m keeping it simple, though it still take a bit of time to finish my housework, prep the appetizers and a few things I can do ahead for the meal.  Today I baked the bread and have prepped the dessert so I just have to throw that in the oven after dinner. I really need to make a couple of Valentine themed pillow covers.  It will probably be something simple that I can do quickly so I have something to use with my quilt when I put it out each year. Ready for Vale...
