Quequechan Quilter

 Hello everyone! Once again, I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to work on my projects.  The quilt I've started quilting isn't quite completed yet, but it should be done by the end of next week.  I pulled four threads to choose which to quilt it with and have decided on the gold. I also decided to do some free motion quilting and chose a basic meander to get it done quickly.  I have 72 granny squares completed for my latest afghan and I'm still working (occasionally) on a knitted scarf and a knitted hat with some of the yarn left over from one of last year's afghan projects. Hello everyone! I made my decision.  I left the solid border on the quilt, trimed it down to half-an-inch finished, and added the rusty orange border.  I think it looks much better.  It's sandwiched and ready to quilt, so the next decision is how I want to quilt it.  I'm leaning toward a simple crosshatch to get it done and out of the way. New Border It's Ready to Quilt I've been trying to spend a few minutes each day working on my projects.  It's not always easy with all the other pulls on my time.  I'll be spending about half  my day Tuesday of the coming week in doctor's offices again, as well as, time chasing my husband's cardiologist who hasn't returned our phone calls.  Just getting them to answer a phone is nearly impossible.  Everything goes to message and they almost never call back. Happy Saturday everyone! We're having some light snow flurries here today.  Yesterday was bright and sunny and we actually had a robin in the trees outside our townhouse. Our Feathered Visitor I've pulled the unquilted quilt tops out of the closet.  The first one I'm planning on quilting is a double four patch in fall colors.  There isn't alot of contrast in the top and when I completed it, I used a bright goldenrod colored solid I had hanging around on it for a border as the top is rather small.  I really don't like that border.  I've pulled out a couple of coordinating fabrics from my stash, but I don't know if I want to take the time to remove the border I've already put on it or if I'll just trim it down and add a new one.  The two colors I'm looking at are an orangey rust and mustardy yellow.  If I leave a narrow border of the goldenrod on it, I'll definitely use the orangey rust.  It looks so much better.  If I remove that border I coul...

Happy New Year everyone. I've been busy taking down all my holiday decorations.  I've decided to let the rest wait until tomorrow.  For now, I'm going to write my blog post and spend a quiet evening reading or watching an old film.  Maybe Frank Capra's "Meet John Doe."  It's one of my all time favorites. Granny Squares I've started a new afghan for an 'in front of the screen' project.  The last two were ripple patterns so I've decided this one will be granny squares.  I'm using three colors and rotating their placement in the blocks.  I haven't decided on the arrangement of them for the afghan yet, but I'm leaning toward a diagonal of the three different squares. I"ve also been designing a new quilt pattern.  It started out as an idea for pillow cover, but I've mocked it up as a lap-size quilt top also.  I'm thinking it might  make a nice wallhanging too.
