Well, another week has passed and I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to work on my projects.  I did finish the second house block and have begun work on the pumpkins for that version of my quilt also. House block in Rustic Gatherings Fabrics Large pumpkin block under construction I still need to add the stitch and flip corners to round off the block, then I can add the stem to the sky fabric above it and stitch them together.  I hope to have this block and the small and medium pumpkin blocks competed for next week and I won't be appliqueing the ghost into the sky on this one. The Too Cute to Spook version I plan on doing differently.  This one will have the ghost applique and I'm planning on piecing a graveyard next to the house.  I think it will be really cute. I also pieced another Christmas table runner this week.  I hope that will be quilted by next week as well. Let me know if you like the design or have any suggestions for my blog. ...

On July 20, I posted an outline of my design for the Haunted House Quilt.  I had asked if anyone had any interest in making the quilt along with me and, no one expressed any interest, so I have not posted any of the patterns for the blocks.  If anyone is interested in this quilt pattern, please comment here or email me at:  quequechan.quilter@gmail.com I am constructing the house blocks this week, as well as, beginning the quilting of my Lucky Gnomes quilt.  I really need to finish this one quickly, so I'm planning just a cross-hatch pattern. Hello again.  I finally have photos of  the completed Falling in Love quilt.  First is a close-up of the quilting. Next is a photo of the front of the quilt. Last is a photo of the backing. I also put together a table runner from the blocks I've been making for my side project.  I needed to use some fabrics from my stash for the setting triangles, but they blend very well with the newer fabrics. I've been working on some more quilt patterns.  I'm planning on using the Haunted House pattern I'm currently making into a seasonal series.  Fall, winter, spring, and summer.  I've designed a spring version with winter and summer to come. Well, another week has gone by and the Falling in Love Quilt isn't quite finished.  The quilting is done, but it still needs to be bound.  I should have it completed for next week's post. I did sew the first block of the Haunted House Quilt I designed.  It's actually a very simple over-sized Drunkard's Path block.   The top one is in last year's Too Cute to Spook and the bottom one is in Lisa Bongean's Rustic Gatherings just released in May of this year.  I don't know if I'll do the ghost applique block next or the house block.  Right now, I'm leaning toward doing the pieced house block next.  Below is the outline of the quilt which I posted a couple of weeks ago for anyone who may not have seen it. I've written the pattern for the quilt.  It should finish at 35.5" by 35.5".  Of course, I may change my mind about the sizes of the borders or how many borders I add.  I've been considering making it into a lap size quilt by adding one ...

It has been a very busy week and I haven't had much time to spend in my sewing room so my Falling in Love Quilt still isn't completed; therefore, I thought I'd share some of my other projects with you today. I designed and pieced a quilt with the Benartex collection called Lucky Gnomes.  It's a two block quilt one of which is a very simple block of the focus fabric and the other is a pieced shamrock block I designed.  Here is a photo of the Shamrock Block. Each of the Shamrock Blocks took about an hour-and-fifteen minutes to sew.  The diagonal sub-block construction was fun to do.  It isn't quilted yet, but below is a photo of the completed top. I also have a scrap project I'm working on with fabric left over from a project I did a couple of years ago with Moda's Hustle and Bustle Christmas fabrics.  This is my "when I'm tired of quilting the quilt" project.
