Quequechan Quilter 29-September-2023 Update

Image
It has been another busy week where things didn't go as planned, but I did manage to finish my Lucky Gnomes quilt.  It is far from the best work I've ever done, but it is finished and that means I can get on to quilting my two fall wallhangings and the two lap quilts I have in the queue.  Here are some photos of the Lucky Gnomes quilt. Work in Progress That's all I have for now.  I need to get onto my laundry and housework for today.  I hope you all have a wonderful week and will check in with my blog again next week. Quequechan Quilter: 21-Sep-23 Update

Image
The weather here has been lovely all week, so I haven't been spending too much time on my quilting.  I have nearly completed the quilting of the Lucky Gnomes quilt.  When that is finished, I think I'm going to get the two wallhangings I recently completed quilted before I quilt the two lap size quilt tops I made with Picnic Pop by Me and My Sister Designs for Moda.  Lucky Gnomes Quilt As I haven't completed anything yet this week, I thought I would share a photo of a quilt I made about 25 years ago.  I fell in love with the panel which I purchased from Saftler's in Whitman, Massachusetts.  I bought coordinating fabrics to border the blocks in the panel and cut different size wedges to piece between the rows of blocks.  There is free motion quilting outlining the motifs in the blocks from the panel and I used a decorative embroidery stitch for the rest of the quilting.   I still miss Saftler's.  They were in business for nearly 100 years...

Haunted House Quilt Tops Completed!

Image
Well, I've finished both of the versions of my Haunted House Quilts (at least the piecing is done).  They still need to be quilted which I'll do once I've finished quilting the Lucky Gnomes quilt I'm currently quilting.  Here are some photos of the final work. Above is the graveyard block for the Too Cute to Spook version and below is the appliqued ghost.  I had intended to take photos of the blocks in progress but was so involved in making them that I completely forgot to take them. Here are the completed quilt tops. Too Cute to Spook Rustic Gatherings I hope you like them.  I can't decide which one I prefer, though Too Cute to Spook is really adorable. I also completed a second table runner.  I used a green binding on the this one. That's all I have for this week.  Have a wonderful weekend.  If you have any comments please leave post them below.

Short and Sweet--Haunted House Quilt Update

Image
This will be rather a short post as it has been a very busy week and I haven't done as much as I had planned. I have completed the pumpkins block for the Rustic Gatherings version of my quilt.  There has been so much taking me away from my quilting this week that I didn't have the time to make the graveyard block for the Too Cute to Spook version, so that will have to wait for next week. Here are some photos of the pumpkins block in process and completed. Well, as I wrote, this will be short and sweet.  I hope everyone has a wonderful week.  If you have any comments for me, please use the comments box below.
